Driving Goods Vehicles
National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) levels 2 & 3

We can offer a FREE National Vocational Qualification (NVQ)

We offer a National Vocational Qualification in Driving Goods Vehicles. This level two or three qualification is recognised nationally and on completion clients will receive a City & Guilds NVQ certificate confirming their knowledge, understanding and skills needed at work. It is not a course! It is a work based qualification.

Practical assessments are carried out at your place of work. Three site visits are initially allocated so that the assessor can watch you carrying out your general work duties and he/she will give you full support and guidance in compiling a portfolio of evidence.

To obtain an NVQ you have to show that you are competent in doing your job. The most common way to prove this is to collect evidence in a portfolio.

The NVQ is divided into units which are:-

  • Monitoring the loading of vehicles by others;
  • Completing pre-driving preparations (daily vehicle checks);
  • Maintaining the safety and the security of the load, self and property;
  • Maintaining awareness of driving conditions;
  • Operating the vehicle systems;
  • Driving the vehicle on public roads;
  • Driving the vehicle in restricted spaces.

There are two optional units, which are:

  • Unloading the vehicle;
  • Coupling and uncoupling the vehicle.

The assessor assigned to you gives you all the support and guidance you will need to achieve this qualification. We also have a centre co-ordinator and an internal verifier to fully support you in achieving this excellent qualification.
